The Allen and Ada Van Dyke farm.

This farm was originally constructed in 1906 by my great great grandmother and grandfather Wells (Ada Van Dyke maternal grandparents) the first barn was constructed in 1906, lived in until the home was constructed in 1907. My grandmother and Grandmother (Allen and Ada Van Dyke) operated a farrow to finish hog operation from 1948 to 1975. At its peak of around 1700 head of hogs. I live there and operate my cash crop farm with some cattle here.

Hi Andy! It's fascinating to hear about your family's history and the hog operation on the farm. We'd love to hear more about your experiences growing up there. Did you have any favorite memories from that time? How has the farm changed since the photo was taken in 1975? What kind of farming have you been doing on the property lately?
