80870 Cedar Street is located on the southeast corner of Bordman Road and Cedar Street. It was home to the Clegg family who, in 1884, created the first recorded self propelled automobile, in the U.S. John and his son, Thomas, had a machine shop located to the east of the house. It was razed in 1936 months before Henry Ford offered to move it to Greenfield Village. The Cleggs corresponded with R.E. Olds and other aspiring inventors of the time.
