Home Sweet Home! Beechwood was built in 1890 as a summer cottage and owned by the same family until the mid-70s, shortly before this photo was taken. The original property was around 60+ acres and included what is now White Pine Village, a historical village on Lake Michigan's Buttersville Peninsula. We bought the house and 4 acres two years ago from the second owners. Many of the old trees are gone from storms, disease, and age but there are a few still standing around the house. The open field behind has been filled with tall pines. Though we have a distant family connection to the original owners, I would love to hear more stories from the original family.
