The business with the cars parked next to it was once Earl Meerman's Gas Station and auto repair. Oil changes were done by driving over an open pit. About the time of this photo, it had probably transitioned into being an ice cream shop. Located on Ironwood Drive/Randall St. E at the junction of Arthur St. Lots of changes to this area. Has been a beauty shop, tax assistance, not sure of current business. Just east of Coopersville.

When it was an ice cream place (approx. 1978), it was called "The Polar Palace", owned by Ross Conran (JerriJean's husband, Patrick's dad, some relation to Randy and Ryan Pfahler). This is on Randall, about a quarter-mile further on toward the right is 48th.

I believe that it was also a video store back in the late 80's.

Glad to see dome memories stirring. It is again a popular hair salon making the local ladies loverly!
