Whitey's Auto Parts. Near the southeast corner of MN Hwy. 65 & Anoka Cty. 116 (Bunker Lake Blvd.). I don't know if Whitey actually "operated" the place. It had become a sort of "collection" of older model cars and trucks. When I was in High School around 1970. Word had it that Whitey decided to clear out some inventory. Supposedly, a good number of young people were allowed into the yard with gas, coolant and batteries and fired up a number of "fat fendered" cars of the late 1930's through 1940's and drove them off for about $150 - 200.

Whitey reputedly was a Kaiser-Fraiser dealer during the run of that make of automobiles and had several Kaiser automobiles that he had never managed to sell during his dealer days. Also rumored that he had numerous Packards and other high-end marques that he had taken in trade during his Kaiser days.

The yard still exists, known as COPARTS. I think it's owned by Whitey's son but not sure. It appears that COPARTS is expanding its operations. Whitey's house was recently demolished and earthmoving is currently taking place where the property fronts on Hwy. 65.

I remember the shop on 65 next to his house. Soon there was a white fence around the property and nothing could be seen including his house.
