This was the Garvin Corner. Located at the intersection of US 59 and US 14 (Garvin Corner), my mom (from Marshall) told me about this building when we’ve gone to the Bethel Cemetery by Garvin. It was originally a two-story building, but a fire destroyed the top half. The building still stands but only as a one story building. I’ve been by the building many times, gas pumps, lights, and signs have been taken down, and the house behind the building was demolished years ago. Also in the bottom left hand corner, you’ll see that it’s a signal controlled intersection. Today, it’s a four way stop.
Does anyone else have any other info on the Garvin Corner? Really curious
This had a few owners but the last ones to operated I believe were Helen and Don Erickson spent lots of time there and seen many car accidents on the corner
My father bought it from the Viskers in 1970. He ran it till about 77-78. It looks how I remember it except the house in back was gone then
Gulf Station
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it.
