We purchased this property in 1985. The house had burned down the winter before. The barn and chicken coop and a barely visible two story storage shed to the right of center were demolished in 1991 after a wind storm damaged all three by bringing two large oak trees down on them. The large cottonwood trees beyond the house are long gone and a lone oak tree stands there. In place of the house we built a 45' diameter dome house in 1996 and a pole garage now stands in the exact center of this photo. A work shop was built where the chicken coop stood. Trees now cover the hill along the right edge of the photo. We have the enlarged print of this photo. Apparently no living relatives of the owners at the time of this photo are still around to ask for information from but several of the long time area residents knew the Kumpalas.
