This is the Albert and Shirley Smith farm where I grew up! The white, two-story house was torn down on my 16th birthday and our seven-member family (at that time) lived in a small mobile home for the summer of 1977 while a new, cedar and reclaimed brick, ranch-style house was built. A fire completely destroyed the dairy barn and milking parlor on an extremely windy May 6, 1979. The cows that survived were moved to our uncles' neighboring farm while a new, state-of-art facility replaced it. Eight months later, we milked cows in the new barn on Christmas Eve!
