What appears to be a Holiday Inn that was demolished to be replaced by a Super 8 Inn. 1641 Martin Spring Drive (Former U.S. 66). Rolla, MO. To the left is the back part of the Wayfarer Motel, which was renamed Bestway Inn, which was heavily remodeled and became Regency Inn.
This is indeed the Holiday Inn. I lived in the back building (part of the HI motel at that time) during my freshman year while attending the University of Missouri-Rolla. The university lacked housing for the incoming students and the new South Tower addition to TJ Hall was still under construction. A photo of those fine young men in front of the Holiday Inn sign can be found on page 249 of the 1983 Rolland yearbook.
