Hello my name my is Stephen Mitchell. The farm in the photo was my family farm from 1958 thru 1993. My parents were Ode & Hazel Mitchell. They bought the farm in the fall of 1958 for the sum of $8,500 from Arthur Berry. The farm consisted of 160 acers of grassland and hardwood forest. The house was 5 bedroom 1 bath home the bath was added after the purchase. There were 2 large barns several out buildings a large water tower which stood on a wood frame to water steam tractors. The water tower was lost to one of the many wind storms we had there. Ode & Hazel raised 7 kids of there own and kept foster kids from time to time. They operated a grade C dairy for many years. ODE & Hazel have both passed on. The house and one of the barns have been removed and replaced with new structures by the new owners their last name is Collins. Many of the Mitchell family still live in Missouri.
