gas station at top of riegel ridge

Walt Holtmeier had Julius Nagy build his station. My house was across the street toward Warren Glen. I grew up in this station as Walt was like my second father! Bob Griffith was my neighbor.

I bought it in 1977 and bought the lot next to it several years latter. Put a big addition on it in 1990 and made it a convenance store.

Made a mistake on date purchased. My partner Don and I bought it in July 1978 not 1977. It was out of busines when we bought it and had to do a lot to bring it up to speed. Also it was when you had gas lines.

Is the convenance store you built still there today? Out of all the changes you made, which one has been your favorite?

Yes, and so is Holland Center the six-store center I built at bottom of hill by 614.
I am proud of everything I did in Holland.
