By 1988 we had lived/ farmed here for seven years as first generation dairy farmers. We’d started from scratch with a handful of my 4H cows, and at this time would have had the first three of our five kids, probably about 130 registered milkers and young stock, the world’s best Border Collie and some chickens. I’m amazed at how much has changed since then, both with the farm, it’s humans and it’s animals, and I’m saddened by that too. Thank you for these good memories!
Hi Gail,
Thanks for sharing your memories with us. Can you tell us more about what the area around your farm was like at the time of the photo? Did your family have any unique routines or practices as dairy farmers?
