could be the farm on 209 and Kripplebush rd. VanAken farm. Would be from years ago.
The stone house was unfortunately in a fire several years ago. The carriage house next to it had been taken down years earlier. One of the silos collapsed almost 19 years ago.
My husband grew up milking cows with his father on this farm.
Yes. My family - Arthur Van Aken bought this farm in the early 1900βs. He raised his family there: Edward Van Aken, Elsa Van Aken Wilbur, Albert L. Van Aken, Ralph Van Aken Sr. And Eunice Van Aken Weeks (all are deceased). Ralph Van Akenβ children helped work the farm with Ralph and Albert from 1958 until the Dairy was sold in the late 1989βs. Marion (RalphSr.βs wife managed the farm until her death in 2014) Ronald Van Aken has assisted Ralph, Albert and Marion with the farm while working a second job. After Marionβs death, Ronaldβs son moved the cattle and a few other assets to Orange County and is has organized and the remnants of this Dairy with his new Dairy and has a Dairy Operation there.
