I am the current resident of this farm and have been since 1996 ,so i do have some knowledge of the history of the farmstead .The house was built circa 1870 from trees that were harvested from the property. In the late 1970s the homeowner , and owner of the local lumberyard had extensive renovations completed on the farm house including a 2 story addition that blended perfectly with the older portion of the house. The barn is a pole barn, it replaced the original barn that was destroyed by a tornado sometime in the 1960s. The pond is spring fed and looks about the same as it did 45 yrs earlier with the exception of a few trees that have grown since or trees that have since been removed due to storms or chainsaws. The farm is still productive , with good yields of corn and soybean .
