I grew up here. One corn crib is gone, the old milk house, the white shed next to the house was replaced by an attached 2 car garage. Lots of pine trees were planted in 1978 west of the house and in 2016 a 140 year old ash tree was cut down from the front yard. At the west side of the house a bedroom was added in 1978. My Mom and Dad who lived there since 1952 moved out in Dec. 2014. Dad has passed but Mom 93 is still with us. Dad and a crew built the silos and all the out buildings except the main barn. An addition was added to that. The house didn't have a basement and mom and dad dug it out with a shovel and a wheel barrel while Mom was pregnant with her third child. They added a front and back enclosed porch. It didn't have electric or a bathroom or plumbing when they bought it. A long history that is coming to a close as part of the farm is in the process of being sold to an Amish family who will no doubt return it to a lot of the condition in which it was bought by my parents.
