This is the old Brose farm located on Weisflock Rd., a half mile east of Chaney Rd. of Lynchburg, OH. Irvin and Dorothy Brose. They were my grandparents. They had 3 children, Bill, Janet and Kenny. Janet was my mother. They farmed it about 45 years beginning with livestock and finishing with agriculture. Not sure when they purchased the farm but they sold it in the early to mid 1970's. Because of an unfortunate vagary in life, myself and my 5 siblings lived with our grandparents on this farm for 1 year in 1968. Some of the best memories in my life! The farm in this photo(1976) appears much the same as when I lived there in 1968. I am viewing this photo on 3/10/2020 and today the farm is much much different as shown on Google Earth. Irvin(Hap) and Dorothy(Dot) are resting in Trout Wine Cemetery on Wise Rd. Lynchburg, OH., which is 2.25 miles southeast as the crow flies from the farm. I am Donald Marlor, 63 years old and live in Saint Petersburg, FL. just shy of 40 years.

I would like to correct the spelling of my grandfathers name in my earlier post. His name is Ervin Brose spelled with an E not an I! E.L.Brose and Dorothy Brose.

Like my brother Donald Marlor said above., this was our grandparents farm for many years!!! My grandpa was an amazing farmer and grandma was an excellent farmer's wife! While grandpa farmed the fields.,grandma canned from her garden!
Like my brother said we had the privilege to live with them for an amazing year. The best memories of my life.
It use to be a magnificent, beautiful farm., but I'm sad to say the years and change of hands have taken it's toll on it. The new owners still farm the land but no one lives in the house. They started restoring the inside but as they explained to me..issues rised and have had to put it on hold.
My wish would be whoever, be it the owner's now or future owner's will restore the house, for it would be the best place for a young farming family to share and collect incredible memories that will last them a life time,, as it has for my brother Donald Marlor and myself. My name is Sherri Glass..I now live in Maineville, Ohio...about 45 minutes from the farm.
