This is my maternal grandparent's farm. A lot has changed since this picture was taken. The house/garage is all that stands now. The field on the right is now where my aunt built her house. The driveway extents to my aunt's house and her driveway.
Hi Rebecca,
Where was your favorite place to play or go when you would visit the property growing up? Did you grandparents have any animals on the property?
The barn at the front of the picture housed the hogs. We liked to go watch them sniff around. The building hidden behind the tree was the chicken coop. I don't remember the chickens but a younger cousin does. We also played in the wagons and in the apple trees that aren't in the picture. Those trees are long gone and replaced with pine trees for a nice wind block. I was 8 during the Blizzard of '78 and when we could get in the roads to visit, we dug tunnels in the drifts made by the plows along the driveway.
