This was my father family farm. John Peter & Mary Lanier. My Uncle Dick Lanier took over the farm after my grandfather pass. He raise my cousins there and I spent many many summers there helping. John & Mary Lanier children were Memphis Robert (Bob), Mildred, Carl, Garland, & Dick. This was a Dairy Farm along with field corn , and tobacco. Beside grown there own food. The new house was added sometime in the early 70's. The old house was getting too costly. After my Uncle Dick pass away my Aunt Helen had to sell the farm. The old house was rented out for a while but then it got to where the new owner had to have it torn down.
