Packer Farm.
I'm the 6th generation owner of this family farm. I've tore down, rebuilt, fixed up, refenced, and I'm not done yet. There are three generations following me who love this land too. Thank you John and Elizabeth Packer for your vision in the 1800's.
Hi Suzanne,
What changes to the property have been your favorite so far? What kind of farming has your family done on the property?
Hello. My favorite is the fact that when you drive past, it's beginning to shine again. My dad wasn't a person who repaired and buildings were in bad shape. It's been a slow process.....and very expensive.. One project at a time! It was a dairy farm, hogs, sheep, grain. Now, my grandson is just baling horse hay..
John Packer came here from Maryland in 1832 with his wife Elizabeth and 8 children. He died in 1835 from Black Fever that killed so many from the community. She stayed! Think I would have packed up and returned to family. I've always admired her courage. We're 9 generations here.
