The family farm that I "grew up" on belonged to my ancestors the Douglas and Rodeffer families (hence the name of the road "Douglas Road".

The land "belonged" to no one until a land grant was given to the Douglas, or Douglass family in the early 1800s. I have some of the old, old family photos and one is the family posed in the side yard. The family that owns the farm now is the first one outside our family to do so. They have added silos and a large structure where my grandfather's workshop and tool storage was. So many changes and so much time since I was there. I don't drive by anymore; it makes me cry because I miss all the relatives who are gone now. Perhaps tonight I will dream, of Grandma and the vegetable garden and the orchard. That will be very restful. I am John and Annie Jane Douglass Rodeffer's eldest granddaughter. Daughter of Vera Louise Rodeffer Sauer Nackhla.o

I grew up on this farm, the youngest daughter of John and Annie-Douglass Rodeffer. The farm was sold to my brother William Rodeffer and later on when he could not work the land it was sold again. I have very fond memories of this place and feel very blessed to have lived the life of a farmer's daughter.
