Gene Verhoff and his family lived here in the 70’s, but moved about a mile away. Eugene and Julie Recker then owned the property and farmed it. A steel pole barn was built to the north east of the wood barn. The Recker’s farmed the land and also raise cows. I spent many wonderful years at this farm with the Recker children and the home was always a architectural masterpiece to me. I remember every detail of the home. When the Recker’s moved in the late 80’s/early 90’s, the property remained uninhabited. However, my heart was broken in the early 2000’s when the home was torn down along with the wood barn.
