This is my âœhome placeâ. I lived here from age 6 months in 1956 until I got married in 1978. My daddy, Richard Lloyd Strausbaugh bought it from his mother Julia Kerns Strausbaugh Gillette.
I am so blessed to have found this picture! My siblings (Ellen, Diana, Rick, and Jim). and I had so many fun times here. The little shed to the left of the house is where my Daddy repaired televisions in his spare time. His main job was working at the Mead Corporation in Chillicothe. You can also see the garden shed to the far left where my Daddy and Grandpa stored tools, and the beautiful garden that my step-Grandpa Harry Gillette cared for. He had rows and rows of every vegetable and fruit you could imagine! My Grandma Gillette canned the vegetables and made jellies and such from the fruits. My Mom cooked many a meal from the fresh vegetables from this garden.
I love this house, and all the memories it holds for me.
