This is the farmstead at 18817 US route 50, near Slate Mills, west of Chillicothe. The house dated to the mid-19th century but was demolished 2007-2008, with most of the farmstead gone by then.

19th century owners include the Schooley, Steel, and Moore families, all with interrelations with their neighbors. I believe the long farm lane was an earlier alignment of the "Lebanon Road," which was shifted a few hundred feet south between 1837 and 1860 to current SR 28.

I grew up in the subdivision nearby, but never in all my geographical exploring visited the house...until it was gone.
