Carter Lumber Dover

Yes. Carter Lumber was Bruce Lumber back in 1940s. Be for it was Bruce Lumber it was a company that built barges for the canal. It became Carter Lumber in the 1960’s. It was also Carter Cashway for awhile. Many people had their first jobs at Carter. It is now called Holmes Lumber.

Wendy's restaurant now is in front of Carter lumber in the lower right of picture.

The gas station in lower left has been replaced and is now a Speedway gas station.

My father owned Bruce Lumber. When Carter Lumber Co. bought Bruce Lumber, my father, Bruce Sackett, remained manager until 1967 when my husband, Jim McDonald became manager.
