4601 State Route 741. The 1875 and 1891 maps attribute ownership to the "A. Surface Estate" which refers to Abraham Surface. Abraham died in 1874 and the land was conveyed to Catharine, his widow, as a dower right. Catharine married Samuel Beal in 1884. The 1903 map lists Catharine Beal as the property owner. The house pictured above was built in 1900, probably by Catharine and Samuel Beal. Catharine conveyed the land to George James in 1909.
