I think this was Hess Gulf at the corner of Columbia Rd. and Kings Mills Rd in Kings Mills, OH.

I used to hang out at the Gulf Station as a kid - I had to be the only girl in the neighborhood who wanted to work on cars! My dad was great friends with the owner. I lived in the area from 1972-1990! There is a fire house that presently sits on this property.

Jeff Burton, Actually it was Hine's Gulf station in the late sixties and early seventies. Burt Hines owned it and Rick Wilson and I use to work there in 1969-70. See that oil truck in the rear of the station? Rick used to deliver fuel oil to customers and he would take someone with him every day on a ride along. I think every kid in Kings Mills rode with him at one time or another. I know for sure that me, Steve Knox, and Jeff Bruning used to go with him frequently. Burt Hines let Rick have the run of the station. If you look closely at the open bay door you just might catch a glimpse of Rick's 1965 GTO up on the lift. GREAT people - GREAT times!

Believe original owner who had this built was Bob Hill. Across the street was Joe Shurts grocery and filling station.

Don Norman, If I remember correctly, in 1969 the store across the street was called Allen's grocery. Down Columbia Road was McDowell's store across from the new High School. Wow! Has it REALLY been 51 years?

Correct Bill. Allen took it over after Shurts. Don't recall his first name, but was a tall farmer with a daughter named Judy - KHS Class of '55.
