Muy Dad owned this farm 1952- 2000, Us four kids have inherited the farm after He and Mom were both passed. I BELIEVE THE HOUSE WAS BUILT around 1827. The original deed was on rice paper and had the signature of John Q Adams and granted 900 acres at that time only requirements were to fence in the land and build a dwelling on the land. The deed follows how the families grew and were granted so much land as their own separate homesteads.

Hi Lisa. Are you sure you have the right picture here? This is the corner of Smithville Western and Clear Creek Valley Roads. We currently live in the barn (converted to a house). Prior owners were the Dittoes who owned it from the 1980s.

My parents purchased this property (13 acres) in the early 1960's for I believe $17000. The previous owners, Bert and Betty Rowland, built the new brick house across the road. Dad passed away in 1973 and we lived there until the mid 1980's when mom sold the property to Jim and Marilyn Dittoe who later converted the barn into a house after they saw one at the home and garden show in Cleveland. The slope at the back of the house was left untouched after it was dug out when the garage was added. My parents had it smoothed out and alot of dirt was drug down in the yard. We lived with mud for a while till grass grew. I have a picture of my youngest brother covered in mud after he had been out playing in it! We also added a half bath upstairs and had the basement floor concreted. Lots of good memories there!!
