This is the house we live in now. It was built in the year 1800 and still standing strong!! If anyone has any older pictures, like OLD, old, I would love to see them!
Hi Becca! Vintage Aerial has a vast collection of old photos. Since you mentioned your house was built in 1800, I'm curious if you have any insights into what life was like in Cumberland County back then? Were there any particular landmarks or events that have made an impact on the community? Also, did you know what kind of farming was done on your property at that time?
Hey Alexis. I honestly have no idea! I grew up in Perry County and we just bought this house about 5 years ago. We know that the previous owners lived here most of their lives and when they originally bought the house, it had no indoor plumbing and no electric. I am unfamiliar with historic Cumberland County. This house (our house) is located in Middlesex, right outside of Carlisle. I would love to know what the land was like and how it's changed and what was farmed!
