The structure on the left side of the photograph is Rees' Mill, situated on the bank of Brown's Creek in Franklin Township, Greene County. The first mill at this site may have been built by John Dripps Rees (1819-1866) who is also believed to have built the brick house in the 1840s. The mill was destroyed by a flood about 1902 and the building pictured here was built by J.D.Rees' son, John Throckmorton Reese (1847-1915).
The house and mill were destroyed in the 1980s by the Monongahela Railroad.
