The Hahns ..Hamilton Sq My Grammy Hahn's house where she lived after moving from the Hahn huge Diary farm ( Maple Lane Diary) on what is now called Rogers Lane . Gwennie and Clyde Hahn Stone home with foot deep window sills. Barn torn down and sold was reclaimed wood to place in New England. many a kid crawled through the hay in the top part of the bank barn often scared of the single bulb lite the bottom barn part below .. Only seeking the new born barn kitten could get us down there . Many a basketball game played up above. Garage gone . the infamous chicken coop by the car gone . Home restored by current owners, Yard entirely changed Chestnut tree by home long gone Driveway now to back of home. Grams got her laundry drying on the line here with the clothes lined tied to the old apple tree. Gram use to take us up the hill behind the barn to show us where the Indian was buried . Property shared border with Phillip Bossards homestead .. Bossardsville Rd hamilton Square up from the church that the Hahns helped to build . Pop Hahn died on his tractor on the way home 1955 just to the left of this photo frame.. I was but two yrs old. Gram continued living here with my Uncle Joel and then by herself until her death over two decades ago .. ..Miss you Gram . You were one tough farm woman especially considering you came from West Main Stroudsburg as your folks owned the boarding home later to become the Varsity and the Oasis bar room when I was going to the high school across from there in the 1960s. Though they did have hogs and chickens and a garden bCK THEN ON West Main.. If we could only go back and see how it used to be..
