This is the former Gearhart’s Dairy outside of Ringtown, PA. I currently own and live on the farm, though much has changed over the past 32 years. Most of the buildings still stand, along with the silos.

My family is from Shenandoah and when we would come up from Jersey, which was quite often, it was always a big deal when my grandfather was going to the dairy to get milk. All the grandkids would pile into the rambler, 3 speed on the column, and go to the farm. My grandfather would talk to the owners and we would go out and hang with cows and throw some "chips" at each other. Great memories from the 1960's and great milk.

Hi Tina!
It sounds like those trips to the dairy were truly special. We'd love to learn more about Schuylkill County in the 1960s. Did you notice any significant changes in the area when compared to the 1989 aerial photo? We'd be fascinated to hear your thoughts on how things have evolved over the years.

All,
I now have a winery, Smokey Hollow Winery, on the property. The old milk pasteurization house is where we are making the wine. We also host special events, benefits, and weddings on the property. This photo hangs in the winery next to some of the old Gearhart Dairy bottles. It’s not giving me an option to post pictures of the current farm on this post, but you can find us on Facebook where we have some updated photos!

Hi Austin! How wonderful to hear about Smokey Hollow Winery and the events you host on the property. It sounds like a fantastic place to visit! We're curious to know how the area has changed since the photo was taken in 1989. Are there any other notable features or landmarks that might have been added?
