This was my Grandparents farm on my Mothers side. It was owned by Boyd and Ruth Yarrison till the early 90's! I think 1994... This photo says it was taken in 1969 a little before my time by 4 years but it remained pretty much the same except for a few more out buildings on the property till 1994 !!

The farm was bought by my Mother Ruth Barron Miller Yarrison she was married to my Stepfather Boyd Yarrison. They bought it in 1953 there was no electricity or indoor plumbing. Boyd and Fred Yarrison installed electric service and a septic system. They had to have the power lines and phone line run from route 31 to the house. The house was a mess inside the previous owners had pigs that would wander in and out of the house. Needless to say there was a lot of work to make it livable. I was 8 years old and my sister Barb was 11. The farm was 43 acres about 12 acres were farmed the rest was woodlands. I lived there until 1963 when I went away to school.
