This is my grandparents farm. Eugene and Mary Will. My mom is the oldest child living today. Grandma was pregnant 24 times and gave birth to 17 children.
This is the farm where I was raised. The tunnel underneath the Pennsylvania Turnpike was closed and filled a number of years ago. If the turnpike has their way, the house will soon be destroyed and the turnpike widened in the direction of the barn for at least 6 lanes of traffic. A major part of the house is of log construction that dates back many years.
This was a farm where I spent many summer vacations.I remember the old road that led back to the hunting camp , where daddy and grandpap went hunting....I remember the old milk house in front of the house, where trucks pulled up to pick up big milk cans to haul away...I remember the huge table in the kitchen that Aunt Mary used to put the family all around to eat...this was one place I used to love to spend my summer vacations at...app. 60 years ago..
My mother grew up on this farm in New Baltimore.
This Brings back a whole lot of Memory's of playing in the Yard with my sister Gail. I'm one of the girls 5 of us, 9 boys !! There were 2 that died as the result of pneumonia & whooping cough when very young !! There was always something to do at the Farm !!! The Farm has changed and as my brother John said the turnpike will take the House and we see it no more !! The house is very large with big rooms and 2 fireplaces !! The family goes there every year for the Eugene and Mary Will reunion !!!! God Bless Mom and Dad they really loved children !!!
