This is the Waleski Horse Farm, 38 Emery Rd, Fredericktown, PA 15333 in Richeyville. Formerly it was called "The Rankin Playhouse". The owners have hosted a bluegrass festival during the annual festival, "National Pike Days," usually the second or third weekend in May.
My mother worked here as a housekeeper in the 1930's.
Growing up in the area, we always called it the 'Mansion'.
The previous owner of the farm, Mike Rankin, was an interesting character. It seemed inconceivable that he also owned that house. He was pretty old back in the 1970's, but he was nice enough to convert the barn into a theater where some of my friends and I worked and played for many years, first as the Rankin Playhouse and then as the Olde Trail Playhouse. It's nice to see it's still there, 40+ years later.
