This was my great grandfather's gas station! His name was Joseph Rath, and the station was located at the intersection of 819 and 981 in Mount Pleasant, PA. The location was nicknamed "Rath Corner" or "Rath's Crossroads" for this reason. The service station later changed hands (I believe it became Stone Oil). The large house directly adjacent to it was my great grandparents' home. The gas station and their home were both torn down in the 1970s to make way for a new railroad trestle. The house on the far left belonged to my grandparents and is still there. What a great find!
Wow, looks completely different now!
2022, changing it again.
Yep, soon there will be a roundabout right across from here.
