I was the last pastor to actually serve in this church building shown here (New Stanton United Methodist Church). It had been built in 1872 and was found to be structurally unsound in 1993. In 1996, a new church facility was completed on the property just to the upper right of this photograph.

In the late 1980s, I attended Girl Scouts in the community building beside the church and slept over in the building with the troop. My family attended fall festivals here as well. The Vogel family lived in the house at the top left of the photo. They had a daughter who was also in the troop and I believe her mom volunteered to help run the troop.
