Malvern, PA Frazer, PA Malin Road and Route 30
I worked at the Firehouse Restaurant at Malin & Rt. 30 in 1980. The building and corner looked nothing like this. I'm not sure where this was, but there wasn't room for a building between it and Malin Rd.
Hi Glenn, thanks for your comment! It's always fascinating to hear from people with memories of the places in our photos. Can you tell us more about what the restaurant was like in 1980? How has the area changed since then? Alexis
I worked there in High School from 1980 to 81. It was owned by Gary and Mary Long(who were divorced by then). I worked then messed up my back and never returned.(Dishwasher). A friend worked there after I did and there was a fire in 1983.(I just looked up that on Malvern's fire dept website).
It was rebuilt as the Firehouse for a few years, sold and became a Japanese Restaurant. That was later torn down and the shopping center took that land and expanded. I remember that it might have been a topless joint before it was the Restaurant but have to find out. I can't find any photos yet of the Firehouse Restaurant to see if there's room for another house between it and Malin Road. (Which is what confuses ne with this photo) It had a large yard we had to cut with a dead Lawnboy mower that was never sharpened so it beat the grass to a pulp instead of cutting it. Ha ha This came up because I am looking for information the railroads in that area and found your site.
