4352 Nursery Road, Dover PA 17315

Christ Lamparter & Sons, rendering plant.

My grandfather’s farm was west of here, by at least one mile on the Bull rd and Butter Rd. The smell from cooking old dead animals is memorable.

This was my great grandfather’s rendering business. When I was little I remember going there with my father and seeing all the dead animals everywhere, he wouldn’t let me get out of the truck because of all of them laying around. Plus I remember going ice skating on that pond and watching my Lamparter cousins play ice hockey . All has been gone for a long time now.

I did. We rented a house from Mr. Lamparter back then.

Hi Steve! It's fascinating to hear about your connection to the area in this aerial photo from 1963. You mentioned your grandfather's farm - I'd love to learn more about the type of farming that took place there. Do you recall any specific crops or animals? Also, we're curious to know if you've noticed any significant changes in the landscape since then.
