That was Smith's Grocery Store on the left side And Smith's Restaurant on the right side. It was owned by John Smith and his wife and he built the building. They had a banquet Room in the restaurant and I attended my wife's grandparent's ( Elwood & Vertie McWilliams) 50th Wedding Anniversary Party there about 1970. The Smith's also built a large rancher with an indoor swimming pool on the hill behind and to the left of the store.

Hi Ted, thanks for sharing your memories of Smith's Grocery Store and Restaurant. That banquet room must have been an elegant setting for your wife's grandparents' anniversary party. What else can you recall when this photo was taken in 1984? Has much changed since then? Also, do you have any favorite childhood memories from growing up in the area?
