The building in the lower left with the cars in front is still there it's a cafe/store and has been for my 40 years and well before that too. The house in the upper left is still there I believe it was built in the late 1800's. The various other buildings have been work areas so they have been changed over the years but it has looked fairly similar. The railroad ran right next to it and I know for sure there have been cotton gin and saw mills there over time. We have a family farm that includes a couple of hundred acres surrounding this spot. It's a great picture of the heart of Laconia.
