This is the Womack ranch. The dozers are where the horse barns with large runs are. It is currently be cleaned up and the fencing is being painted black. The house across the street from the dozers is being remodeled and was the Womack house. This is just south of boonesville on 920.
Hi Cerise,
Do you have a personal connection to this property? Do you know how many horse are on the property today?
Alexis, it just recently sold and is being cleaned up and remodeled now. There are no horses and there haven’t been any for a while now. I have no personal connection except that I bought hay from one of the Womacks a few years ago. I drive by here daily so it’s nice to see it being restored and hopefully occupied. Wish I had some major history to tell you, but I don’t. I’ve lived just south of boonesville for 12 years, and this property has been for sale for the last seven years.
This place belonged to Thurman( Son) Womack. He owned Womack Trucking in Bridgeport, Texas. He was into race horses for a while..anything Son touched turned to gold...He as a good man...I knew him since 1970 until his death...His wife was a Grantham...The Granthams own a lot of land to the north of the Womacks property... most of the Womack property has sold off..I do believe the Granthams has grown... The Granthams ran a dairy there for many years..The Granthams are great people.
