Clifford & Dorothy Berry farm in downtown Sheffield, VT.
John Person Ingalls as shown on the 1858 Walling's Map of Sheffield Village, although the residence was prior to that date when Sheffield Hollow was established in 1831. I'm fairly confident of the date 1830-1831 as John P. Ingalls signed the 1831 charter which included fifteen (15) houses. It has a long history of residents leading to current members of the Cecil Smith Family of Sheffield and Wheelock VT. Clifford Berry bought the place in 1952 from Edward Wright when the 2nd floor of the barn, which housed the dairy cows, collapsed completely, killing much of the herd.
