My first thought was "north star motel" on shelburne road...but I'm not sure
I don't think it's the North Star. If it was, then the pic would have to be taken looking northeast and there isn't a through-street to the east that close to the north end of the North Star.
Champlain Motor Loadge
This was the Champlain Motor Lodge, located at 3000 Shelburne Road in Shelburne, VT. It now known as "Harbor Lodge".
That makes sense. So the road on the left is Champlain Drive, the road coming to the foreground is Hedgerow drive, and the tanks were where The Automaster is today.
This is a great picture. I used to live on Hedgerow Drive in the 80s. I wonder if one of the small buildings in front of the Motor Lodge is Bueno Appetito. Should be the middle of the three small buildings. The one on the right was the Motor Lodge office.
