Cavendish Town Elementary School, 1531 VT-131, Cavendish, VT. It is in Proctorsville, a village in Cavendish. The building now has a gable roof and here is an addition on the right rear of the building.
This school building was built on the site of an earlier school, known as the Proctorsville Grade school. My brother Bob Snarski taught at this new school for several years.
No connection.
I remember this school well, having commuted from Knapp Pond Road in the PGS school bus for eight years. Graduated in 1968. Always wondered what it would be like to tour the Fitton? woolen mill that was just up the street, across from Polllard's store. Sadly, the mill no longer exists.
yes, I remember this. that's Dude and Web Wymans house in the back ground its off what was High St I think it has a new name now. I believe there were three houses torn down to build the new school, Lester(red) and Ruth Gilchrist, and Pete Stocker and I believe one more that I can't remember right now. and Stan Firkey was principal.
Great memories. Mid-1980s: Donna Bonang, 1st grade; Vera Davis, 2nd grade; Eleanor French, 3rd grade; Mrs Griggs, 4th grade; Michael Lannon, 5th grade; Thad Hanus, 6th grade. Bob Snarski, Principal and gym teacher. A fun time in life, for sure.
