This is the main house at Farnley Farm, which at the time belonged to my grandmother, Joan Romaine (previously Mackay-Smith, later Dunning). There were substantial changes made about five years later to the building visible between the trees to the right and rear of the main house to make it the house where I lived for most of my childhood, but the only one visible from this angle is the addition of a dormer window.
