This fine residence is Beaumont, Somerset, the home of Johnny Scott, In 1978, as a boy of eleven years, I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny during a dinner party at Achnacarry, the home of his friends, Bernie Wolfson and Mary Collins Jones. At that time, I aspired to become an architect, and Johnny, with a vast knowledge of what makes fine homes fine, took the time to critique some of my earliest floor plans and elevations. His comments were thoughtful, on point, and encouraging—entirely consistent with his nature.
