(Photo 99-DSH-15 - Pond Branch Rd, Franklin, VA) My family has no connection to the property now. However, this farm was my mother's home when she was growing up. Her father, John (Johnny) Henry Johnson, Sr., built it for his family -- I think maybe in the 1930s. Mother is 90 now and still has good memories of living at "the house with the basement", as she always calls it. We have family photos of the place from years ago and a friend took recent ones to share with us not too long ago. It appears that the house has been well cared for through the years and has changed little.
