My parents had this home built about 1960 (Robert and Virginia Crumpler). My father managed a grocery store/gas station that would have been towards the left of this photo and across the highway (which was numbered 189 back then). The area was called Beale's Corner and it was south of the village of Holland in what was Nansemond County VA back then - today it's all considered Suffolk, VA.
