This was my first residence. Born in Huntington, my parents brought me home to this house that they were renting from the Knights, who lived in the historic General Jenkins house next door. I have fond memories of playing on the land and in the barn and walking down to the Ohio river. We moved from here in around 1984. Today, the land is protected wetlands and the house I lived in was moved from the foundation up onto the overlooking hill. Where it sat, a new government structure was built and the barn is long gone. I live in Texas now and was able to visit this land a few years ago with my parents and my wife and son. It was nice to be able to experience being there again after 30 some odd years.
