This is the old Ferdinand Ashenhart Farm, most commonly known as the Charlie Wilcox place or Les Staley place on Elk Fork. Ferdiniand and Amanda (Fox) Ashenhart are the ones who had the house built sometime in the 1890's. Possibly the original home was a log barn (originally a log house) that sat over in the left corner of the field as we are looking at it, but just beyond the reach of the camera.
Those Ashenhart were my great grandparents, and I am old enough that I knew Ferdinand. John McGee
